After having worked with our company before, this Cornish, ME homeowner was looking to have the crawlspace below their home better insulated and they knew exactly who to call to get the job done! We sent our sales representative to give the homeowner a free estimate and they were ready right away to have us get started as soon as we could get a crew to their home. When our installation crew made it to the home, they moved straight to the crawlspace below the home to insulate the space. In order to prevent the outside temperature from affecting the temperature inside the home, Spray Foam insulation was used to fill in gaps in the joists above the crawlspace. The Spray Foam expands once sprayed along a surface, forming a thick barrier capable of holding back the air that would typically cause the temperature transfer from below the home. Now any heating or cooling done within the home will last longer without more energy consumption with the Spray Foam barrier to maintain efficiency. Now this homeowner has the exact kind of crawlspace insulation they were looking for. This Cornish, ME home will be much better off during the peaks of winter and summer in coming years.

A homeowner was experiencing water seeping into their basement during heavy rains. This homeowner attempted to solve the problem by acquiring a wet vacuum. This didn’t help much at all, and the problem proceeded to get worse. This brought the homeowner to the internet, where they found us, TC Hafford Basement Systems. They gave us a call and we sent our a representative to take a look and give a free estimate. The homeowner then decided what work they wanted done and we got to work! We dug out a sump for the homeowner, this is a location where all the water entering the basement will gather. Then we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This pump will then take this gathered water and force it up and out of the basement. The water travels through a PVC pipe, on the outside of the house, we attached an IceGuard piece to this PVC discharge line. The IceGuard filter will allow water to continue to be pumped out of the house if the lower end of the discharge line gets clogged by ice or other debris. Now this homeowner will have a much dryer basement.

A homeowner in Newry, who had sump with a pump, was still having problems with water in their basement. This isn’t uncommon, due to there being no guaranteed way for the water to find its way to the sump. Being a prior customer of TC Hafford Basement Systems, this homeowner knew exactly who to come to in order to fix their problem. We had a representative give a free estimate, and we got to work! In order to guarantee the water entering the basement would find its way to the sump, we needed to install a WaterGuard pipe. To do this, we dug up the interior perimeter of the basement floor and removed all of the debris. Then we laid the WaterGuard piping around the trench, leading to the sump. This was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to hide it under the floor without disturbing functionality. The WaterGuard pipe will capture water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor, guiding it directly to the sump pump to be removed from the basement. Now this homeowner once again has a dry basement, and a system in place to keep it that way!

This Newry, ME homeowner had been having issues with their existing sump. During power-outages, their basement would flood without the sump removing water. Looking to resolve this problem fast, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford soon after hearing our ad on the radio. We set them up with a free estimate and soon got to work on improving their sump system! Upon arriving at the home, our installation crew got started by removing the old pump and replacing it with a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe, as the name suggests, houses three pumps inside itself. The primary and secondary pumps will pump the majority of the water from the home; with the secondary pump only activating if the primary needs assistance.  The third pump operates on a battery, kicking-in if the home loses power. Finally, outside the home, an IceGuard pipe segment was fitted to the discharge line the water exits through. The IceGuard segment has upward facing holes in the sides, allowing for any water blocked by ice or debris to exit the line without backing up into the basement. With these new additions to their home, this homeowner can now be at ease during any heavy rainfall, knowing their basement isn’t going to flood like it used to. The TripleSafe sump system will keep this basement dry in any weather for years to come!

This homeowner living in Newry, ME called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems with a problem. Their crawlspace was so damp it would cause a musty smell throughout their home. They needed a quick fix and after hearing about us from a family friend, they thought we were right for the job. We soon sent over our sales representative to take a look at the crawlspace and give the homeowner their free estimate on the cost of the repairs. To provide a proper vapor barrier for this space, they began by laying a Drainage Matting across the dirt floor of the crawlspace. This mat rests on built-in supports to sit just barely above the surface of the floor. This creates channels for any water blocked by the barrier to flow through until it finds where it can most easily drain back into the ground. Next, to complete the vapor barrier, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. Covering all of the walls as well as the floor, this liner will prevent water from accumulating within this space in the future. To handle the still present moisture problem within the space, a SaniDry CX dehumidifier was installed atop the new barrier. This dehumidifier will pull in the damp air from the space and separate the moisture from it. The newly dried air will be circulated back into the crawlspace while more damp air is pulled in. Any collected water is passed to a Condensate Pump that removes it from the home through piping. This process will continue until the crawlspace is once again completely dry. These new waterproofing measures will soon clear up the problem this homeowner was experiencing. The CleanSpace liner will prevent any moisture build up for years into the future!

A homeowner in Denmark was having trouble with water pooling up in her basement. She had been using a shop vacuum to remove the water, but it just wasn’t enough. She needed a system in place to handle the water without her needing to get involved. She got online and searched for a solution. This is where she found TC Hafford basement Systems. She called us up, we gave her a free estimate, and then we got to work! We began by digging out a trench around the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This trench would enable us to lay our WaterGuard pipe system beneath the floor. Covering it with loose rocks and cement, we were able to conceal it without hurting its functionality. The WaterGuard will gather all the water trying to leak in through the cement itself, guiding it toward the sump. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump to remove the water from the basement. This water exits through a PVC discharge line. In case of power outages, we attached an UltraSump backup battery to the SuperSump to keep it operating in any weather. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we installed an IceGuard pipe piece to the discharge line. This IceGuard will allow for water coming from the sump to exit the pipe in the event that the lower end of the line becomes blocked by ice or other debris. Now this homeowner has the proper systems in place to maintain a dry, healthy basement without any need for her to put in any effort.

Drainage Matting is a durable barrier with dimples to help channel water and elevate the CleanSpace, keeping it clean. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls and seals up the crawl space, keeping moisture out. SprayFoam was installed on the rim joists and walls to insulate the area, keeping cold air out during the winter, making the space more comfortable, and saving the homeowner money on their energy bill.   A SuperSump Plus system with WaterGuard was installed to capture water and pump it through the new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home and with the installation of IceGuard, the entire system is protected against ice buildup in the winter. Finishing out the full waterproofing system was the installation of a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to protect the space from future moisture. System Design Specialist Rick R. met with the homeowner to evaluate their specific needs.   Water was leaking in around the perimeter of the basement, so WaterGuard was installed to catch the water and channel it to a SuperSump Plus system. The SuperSump Plus pumps the water through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that takes it far from the home. The Discharge line is protected against ice buildup during the winter months with the installation of IceGuard. To take care of any humidity in the basement, a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier is set up with an additional line attached to the SuperSump so the homeowner no longer has to go into the basement to empty their old dehumidifier. Now their space is dry and fully functional for much needed added square footage.
