Crack in Eliot, ME, Basement is Sealed With Flexispan
Linda from Eliot, ME, was having issues with water entering her basement through a crack in the wall. This crack was 1.6’ long, and was an excellent place for water to flow through from the surrounding earth. To seal this crack, and prevent any water from leaking through in the future, we used Flexispan. This involves covering the crack with a special flexible sealant. Then this sealant is covered with a unique Flexispan foam material. Finally a coating of sealant is applied over the foam material, sealing it against the wall. This crack won’t ever leak water into this basement again.
o Edited: Two Basement Wall Cracks In Hanover, ME Sealed With FlexiSpan
A couple in Hanover had been living in their home for 40 years. They had recently noticed two cracks in their basement wall where water was coming in through. They were using their basement for storage at the time, and needed to stop this water from entering as soon as possible! They soon saw TC Hafford Basement Systems at a home show, and knew we were the right people for the job! They contacted us shortly after the show and we got to work! To seal the cracks, we used FlexiSpan. This is a three-tier structure, which is flexible, and able to contort to a crack, should the wall shift at all. The first layer is a layer of sealant applied directly into the crack. Next, a foam mat is laid over the top of the sealant, this is where the flexibility comes from. Finally, a second layer of sealant is applied over the foam, holding the structure in place, and completely locking out any moisture trying to enter through the crack. This FlexiSpan is sure to keep even a 40-year-old basement dry!
Hanover, ME Basement Kept Safe from the Elements with SuperSump Installation
A homeowner that lived in Hanover, ME was in the market for some basement waterproofing. After visiting a home show and seeing that TC Hafford could offer them the solution they needed, they called our office staff to ask about their free estimate. Once they spoke to our representative, they knew they were ready to move forward with the basement waterproofing. We dispatched our crew and got started on the basement! Once the installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement by installing a SuperSump device in the lowest point of the floor. This pump will take in the water gathering across this homeowners’ basement and force it up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, the discharge line carries the water away from the home before it is released through the grated opening of a LawnScape discharge port. Just where the line exits the home, an IceGuard pipe section was attached to further protect the basement from water. Now if ice were to cause a blockage in the line, the trapped water would flow out through special holes in the IceGuard instead of flowing into the basement again. With these additions to their basement installed, this homeowner can now rest assured their basement will remain water-free. The SuperSump pump will force any gathering water from the home from now-on.
PolyLevel Injection Realigns Sinking Hanover, ME Driveway
After seeing our crew installing PolyLevel for a friend, this Hanover, ME homeowner knew right away they wanted to have the same done for their driveway! They called our office staff and we scheduled a time for them to meet with our sales representative to receive a free estimate on the cost of the project. Happy with the details, the homeowner hired us to get their driveway realigned with their garage as soon as possible! Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to get to work right away leveling the driveway. First, several small holes were drilled in through the driveway slab to give access to beneath the concrete. Next, PolyLevel was injected in through these holes, where it rapidly and forcefully expands below. This raises the driveway with each injection until it perfectly realigns with the garage slab it once was level with. Once the PolyLevel completely dries, it will harden and keep the driveway held in place for many years to come!
Geo-Lock Wall Anchor Saves Oquossoc, ME Basement Wall From Cave In
A homeowner in Oquossoc had noticed his basement wall was bowing. This was an immediate concern for the homeowner, as he feared it may cave in. He got on his computer and searched for a solution right away. This is where he found TC Hafford Basement Systems. He called us to set up a meeting with our representative, and we inspected the wall to give him his free estimate. After that, we sent in our crew to get started! To begin with the installation of Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, we drilled deep horizontal holes evenly spaced along the wall in a line. We then dug out vertical holes on the lawn outside the wall to meet up with the previously drilled holes. We then inserted long poles in through the horizontal holes, attaching them on both ends to thin metal plates. The second pair of plates are inserted through the vertical holes. These plates are secured parallel to the wall, to use the soil for support and pull on the wall. These can be tightened over time to pull the wall back into its original position. With these anchors in place, this homeowner no longer needs to worry about a cave in within his basement!

Duplex in Portsmouth, NH, with Heavy Flooding Needed a Way to Drain
Rich, out in Portsmouth, NH, was renting out one side of a duplex, however, the crawlspace underneath was causing problems. This crawlspace had dirt floors, and would flood frequently during heavy rains. This would lead to a lot of moisture in the air underneath the building, causing mold and rot to form in the wood. After receiving a piece of mail directly from TC Hafford Basement Systems, Rich decided it was the right choice to contact us. Shortly after, Peter Folsom investigated the crawl space, and a crew came over to get to work. In order to help keep water out, Drainage Matting was implemented on top of the dirt floor, along with a WaterGuard system to direct the water outside. Finally, a FloodRing was created to prevent any water that did manage to enter the crawlspace from spreading. Now with a newly protected basement and crawl space, Rich has peace of mind when allowing guests to rent his duplex during heavy rain storms.
Fresh New Slab in Waterboro, ME
This Waterboro, ME, homeowner had been dealing with water coming up through their old slab, leaving puddles and ruining their belongings. The homeowner had no intuition of moving to a new home and wanted to keep their forever home in a safe condition. Ready to use their basement as it was intended, so they booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems for help. The homeowner wanted to keep their basement dry all of the time, so they worked with System Design Specialist Brian Donnelly to design a system that would take care of all the waterproofing issues at once. Prepping The Area The first step in prepping the area for the new slab includes laying down Drainage Matting to create an inorganic barrier for the new slab to be poured on and protected. WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter where needed to capture and channel ground water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup sump that protects the homeowner during a heavy rain event and power outage. The TripleSafe drains through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that takes the water away from the home. Maine gets cold in the winter, making it important to build a system that will work year-round, so IceGuard was installed on the Discharge line to prevent ice from building up and causing issues. The New Slab Now that the area was fully prepped, the brand new slab was poured. The homeowner is now able to use their basement as they want to, without the worry of water damaging their belongings or appliances. The new slab is crack-free, and the basement can be finished if the homeowner decides to.

West Baldwin, ME Basement Kept Water-Free with WaterGuard Installation
A homeowner that lived in West Baldwin, ME had a problem building up beneath their home. The concrete foundation below the home had been leaking water onto the basement floor, which was causing flooding in the space. Looking to have this problem dealt with as soon as possible, the homeowner searched for a solution online and soon discovered us at TC Hafford. After they called our office in Wells, we set them up with a free estimate to inform them of their options. They hired us right away to get the job done and solve their wet basement problems! Once our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to install WaterGuard piping below the surface of the floor. These pipes were buried in shallow trenches that were excavated into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Covered by loose rocks and concrete, the pipes will remain concealed within the floor while taking in any leaking moisture through small slits along their bottom edges. The water collected in the WaterGuard is guided through the floor to the sump feeding directly into the SuperSump pump we installed. The SuperSump removes water from the basement at a rate of 2,650 gallons of water per hour. This water exits the home through a PVC discharge line where it is carried a distance from the home before being deposited onto the ground to flow away from the home. With their newly waterproofed basement, this homeowner can now make use of the space again without needing to fear water damage destroying their property! The WaterGuard & SuperSump will ensure this basement floor remains dry in the future.
