This liner locks out all moisture on the exterior of the crawlspace. Now Nathan has a proper moisture barrier to keep his crawlspace dry even in the heaviest of rain!
West Baldwin, ME Basement Kept Water-Free with WaterGuard Installation
A homeowner that lived in West Baldwin, ME had a problem building up beneath their home. The concrete foundation below the home had been leaking water onto the basement floor, which was causing flooding in the space. Looking to have this problem dealt with as soon as possible, the homeowner searched for a solution online and soon discovered us at TC Hafford. After they called our office in Wells, we set them up with a free estimate to inform them of their options. They hired us right away to get the job done and solve their wet basement problems! Once our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to install WaterGuard piping below the surface of the floor. These pipes were buried in shallow trenches that were excavated into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Covered by loose rocks and concrete, the pipes will remain concealed within the floor while taking in any leaking moisture through small slits along their bottom edges. The water collected in the WaterGuard is guided through the floor to the sump feeding directly into the SuperSump pump we installed. The SuperSump removes water from the basement at a rate of 2,650 gallons of water per hour. This water exits the home through a PVC discharge line where it is carried a distance from the home before being deposited onto the ground to flow away from the home. With their newly waterproofed basement, this homeowner can now make use of the space again without needing to fear water damage destroying their property! The WaterGuard & SuperSump will ensure this basement floor remains dry in the future.
Damp West Baldwin, ME Basement Kept Dry with SaniDry Installation
This homeowner living in West Baldwin, ME wanted to use their basement as more of a livable space. Dampness, however, had made this difficult and they needed a way to keep the moisture under control. After looking around for a way to achieve this, they were soon referred to us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us and we set them up with a free estimate. They soon spoke with our sales representative and agreed on the solution we suggested. We then dispatched our crew to begin work on the space. A SaniDry XP dehumidifier was installed on the floor of the basement to do just this. The SaniDry will take in the damp air surrounding it, separating any moisture from this collected air. The moisture is then passed to a Condensate Pump installed nearby. The pump will force the water out of the home while the SaniDry circulates the dried air back into the basement. This process will continue until the basement air is healthy and dry again. With this new system installed, the homeowner can now comfortably make use of their basement without unpleasant musty air. Denmark, ME Basement Kept Dry With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Denmark was having trouble with water pooling up in her basement. She had been using a shop vacuum to remove the water, but it just wasn’t enough. She needed a system in place to handle the water without her needing to get involved. She got online and searched for a solution. This is where she found TC Hafford basement Systems. She called us up, we gave her a free estimate, and then we got to work! We began by digging out a trench around the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This trench would enable us to lay our WaterGuard pipe system beneath the floor. Covering it with loose rocks and cement, we were able to conceal it without hurting its functionality. The WaterGuard will gather all the water trying to leak in through the cement itself, guiding it toward the sump. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump to remove the water from the basement. This water exits through a PVC discharge line. In case of power outages, we attached an UltraSump backup battery to the SuperSump to keep it operating in any weather. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we installed an IceGuard pipe piece to the discharge line. This IceGuard will allow for water coming from the sump to exit the pipe in the event that the lower end of the line becomes blocked by ice or other debris. Now this homeowner has the proper systems in place to maintain a dry, healthy basement without any need for her to put in any effort.
Leaking Basement In Lovell, ME Waterproofed With WaterGuard
Kevin from Lovell was having trouble with water gathering in his basement. The water was coming in through the floor and walls and he needed professional help to prevent this from recurring in the future. Kevin got online to find a solution, soon coming across TC Hafford Basement Systems. We started by excavating the inside perimeter of the basement, this gave us room to lay down our WaterGaurd pipe system. This system is then buried under cement to conceal it beneath the floor. The WaterGaurd will capture water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor and guide it to the sump in the basement. Next, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will take the water gathered by the WaterGuard and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, we attached a unique piece of pipe onto the discharge line called an IceGuard. This piece will allow water to continue to flow from the basement even if ice or other debris blocks the line. Now Kevin has a dry basement thanks to WaterGuard!
Flooding Basement In Hollis Center, ME Waterproofed With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Hollis Center was having issue with water leaking into their basement through the walls and floor. The water achieved this through a phenomenon known as hydrostatic pressure. This is when the amount of water in the surrounding soil is so great, it pressed its way through the cement foundation. To find a solution, the homeowner logged online and searched. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to receive their free estimate. They agreed to what work they wanted done and we got started. We began by excavating the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This new trench made room for us to lay down our WaterGuard system. This system is then hidden under the floor with loose rocks and cement to ensure functionality. The WaterGuard will capture water as it comes in through the effects of hydrostatic pressure. This water will then be guided to the sump. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will force all of the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, we attached an UltraSump backup batter to the SuperSump. This will maintain the pumping of water even without power in the home. With these three systems working together, the homeowner will no longer experience a flooding basement. They will maintain a dry basement for years to come.
WaterGuard Prevents Moisture From Leaking Into Center Lovell, ME Basement
A homeowner in Center Lovell bought a home, but this home had a problem in the basement. It would gather a large amount of moisture whenever it would rain, which was leaving behind an unpleasant, musty smell. Looking to finish the basement and turn it into a livable space, the homeowner needed to waterproof the space. He searched online and found his solution, TC Hafford Basement Systems. He called us up and we were on the job! We began by digging out the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This new trench surrounding the basement is where we laid down our WaterGuard piping system. This system is buried beneath cement, and will capture water before it reaches the surface. The captured water is carried through the pipes to the sump, where we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will handle pushing the water up and out of the basement, never allowing it to reach the surface of the floor. Finally, to allow the homeowner to finish the space without needed to address the cold cement floor, we laid down our ThermalDry flooring tiles. CleanSpace Encapsulation Keeps Center Lovell, ME Crawlspace Dry
After living in their home for some years, this Center Lovell, ME homeowner thought it was time they did something about the musty smell coming from the crawlspace below their home. The smell was obviously due to moisture in the space and after seeing an ad in their paper, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to see what we could do for them. They soon spoke with our sales rep. about their options and gave us the go-ahead to begin the waterproofing of their crawlspace. Once our installation crew made it out to the home, they were tasked with the integration of a vapor barrier below this home. This started with a SmartDrain being installed in the natural low point of the floor. This will take in any water collecting in the space and allow it a way to flow out of the home. Next, a Drainage Matting was laid across the entire floor of the crawlspace. This mat has holes throughout and sits just off the surface of the floor. The purpose this serves is to form channels to allow any water blocked by the finished barrier to have a path to follow toward the drain. Finally, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the space. Covering all of the walls as well as the matting over the floor, the CleanSpace will lock out any outside moisture that might have previously leaked into the space, protecting the crawlspace from the threat of moisture build-up. With their new vapor barrier in place, this homeowner will no longer experience the musty smell emanating from their crawlspace. The CleanSpace liner will keep out all of the unwanted moisture in the future!
SmartJack Supports Save Dipping Center Lovell, ME Cottage
With a cottage in Center Lovell, ME, this property owner had a problem with their foundation. Sitting on cinder blocks, the cottage had begun to sag over time, which could easily lead to structural damage. To avoid any further damage and to have the foundation repaired, the property owner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems after seeing us in the newspaper. We then dispatched our crew and got to work on the foundation. As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on the improved foundation by digging out shallow holes and pouring engineered fill to create a firm place for the footings of the new supports. Resting on this now-solid ground, concrete footings were put in place every few feet below the rim joists of the crawlspace. Next, SmartJack piers were inserted between the footings and the beams above the crawlspace. The SmartJack piers can then be adjusted once they are all in place to realign the base of the cottage with where it used to rest. After these piers were adjusted properly, the old foundation blocks were removed, and the cottage was secure! With these new supports below their cottage, this property owner should never experience their floor drooping again. The SmartJack piers will hold this cottage firmly in place for many years to come!
