Somersworth, NH Basement Kept Dry with WaterGuard Installation
When this homeowner noticed flooding in their basement, they were unprepared to deal with this problem. The water had been seemingly leaking in through the concrete foundation directly, so the homeowner was unsure how to approach the problem. After they were referred to TC Hafford Basement Systems, this homeowner called us to set up and appointment for their free estimate. After receiving their estimate, this homeowner hired us to get the job done! Upon arrival to the home, our crew got started on this basement by excavating a shallow trench surrounding the floor of the space. Next, WaterGuard piping was placed down within this trench. The WaterGuard was covered with loose rocks before being sealed within the floor by a fresh layer of concrete. These pipes will collect any leaking moisture in the future, preventing it from reaching the surface of the floor. The collected water then follows the WaterGuard piping through the floor to the sump where it will be removed from the home. Once finished with the WaterGuard, our crew installed a SuperSump pump in the sump of this basement. The SuperSump will take the water from the WaterGuard, forcing it up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The SuperSump operates at a rate of 2,650 gallons of water removed per hour, plenty of power to keep this basement water-free. Nearby, an UltraSump backup battery was installed and attached to the SuperSump. The UltraSump will allow the SuperSump to continue to function even during power-outages. These improvements will keep this homeowners basement dry for years to come! The WaterGuard piping & SuperSump system will ensure this homeowner never experiences a flooding basement again.
TripleSafe Sump Upgrade Keeps Somersworth, NH Basement Water-Free
After some neighboring construction happened, this Somersworth, NH homeowner began to experience water problems in their finished basement. Without a drain in the space, they had almost no way of solving this problem. They searched online and soon found us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, calling right away to set up their free estimate. The homeowner soon sat down with one of our sales representatives to talk over their options and decided on what they would like done to waterproof the space. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were tasked with giving the space proper drainage. To achieve this, a TripleSafe pump was installed in the floor of the basement. The TripleSafe device houses three sump pumps within itself. The first pump works to remove the majority of the collected water. The secondary pump will remain idle until either the primary pump fails or cannot handle the current amount of water needing to be removed, then the pump will activate to increase the flow exiting the home. The third pump is a battery-operated backup pump that will activate in the event of a power-outage, maintaining a dry basement even when the home is without power. The water exits the home through a PVC discharge line that carries the water a distance from the home. Just beyond where this line exits the home, an IceGuard pipe segment was intersected into the discharge line. The IceGuard piece has special upward facing holes that only allow trapped water to escape the line. This will protect the basement from flooding due to a blockage of ice or other debris in the line. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was attached to the end of the line. This piece has a grate covering the bottom end of the pipe, blocking most debris from entering the line from the end while allowing the water to flow out onto the lawn a distance from the home. Now that this homeowner has a functioning sump system below their home, they no longer need to fear a flooding basement causing damage to their property. The newly installed TripleSafe pump will ensure this basement stays dry for years to come!
Crack in Lebanon, ME, Basement Sealed Permanently
Steve from Lebanon started to notice a crack forming in his basement wall. This crack was starting to let water into the basement, and he wanted to fix this as soon as possible. Shortly after an internet search, Steve found TC Hafford Basement Systems and gave us a call. We inspected the crack, and quickly got to work applying FlexiSpan to fix the problem. To install Flexispan, we apply a sealant to the crack, to block water trying to enter through the crack. Then we cover this sealant with a foam strip, to further contain water that might enter along the edges of the crack. Finally, another layer of sealant is placed over the foam to completely lock out any water. The homeowner no longer needs to worry about this crack.
WaterGuard Installation Protects Lebanon, ME Basement from Water Damage
A homeownr living in Lebanon, ME had a problem beneath their home. The concrete foundation around their basement was allowing moisture to leak through. This moisture was building up in the basement and causing problems for the homeowner. To get this problem taken care of, this homeowner searched online for a solution. They soon found TC Hafford Basement System and called us to see what we could do for them. Shortly after receiving their free estimate, they gave us the go-ahead to get started on fixing their moisture problem. As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work installaing a WaterGuard piping system. This started with a shallow trench being excavated into the perimeter of the floor. Here, WaterGuard pipes were used to surround the basement floor before being buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete. Within the floor, the WaterGuard pipes will take in any moisture through small slits in the base of each pipe. This water is trapped within the pipes and guided beneath the floor to the sump to be removed from the home. To keep up with the water being collected by the WaterGuard, a SuperSump sump pump was installed in this basement floor. The SuperSump can move over 2,600 gallons of water per hour. This water is forced out of the home through a PVC discharge line. To keep the SuperSump operational at all times, an UltraSump backup battery was attached. This battery will activate when the home loses power, maintaining a constant removal of any water that might be gathering beneath the home. With these new additions to their basement, this homeowner should no longer suffer from water leakage. The WaterGuard will handle any leaks before they reach the surface of the floor from now-on!
SuperSump Installation Keeps Lebanon¸ ME Basement Water-Free
A homeowner that was living in Lebanon, ME at the time had recently begun to have moisture problems below their home. Rainwater had been gathering in a pool in their basement after heavy rainfall and they were worried about potential water damage. After speaking with a realtor, they were referred to TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to receive a free estimate. Our sales representative spoke with the homeowner about what could be done, and they hired us to get the job done right away! When our installation crew made it out to the home, they got started on the basement floor by excavating a place for a sump system to be implemented. A SuperSump pump was installed in this new hole, located in the natural low point of this basement floor. Now when water enters the space, it will flow into the SuperSump and be pumped up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The SuperSump can output over 2,600 gallons of water per hour, plenty of force to keep any rainfall at bay. With a properly waterproofed basement, this homeowner no longer needs to worry about water pooling up below their home. The SuperSump system will maintain a dry basement floor in this home for years into the future.
Taking Care of an Unused Space
When a homeowner decides to waterproof their basement, it tends to be when they are ready to remodel and use the space without having to be concerned with their belongings being damaged. However, this is not always the case. This Lebanon, ME homeowner had issues with hydro static pressure and wanted to take care of it to protect the health of their home, not to remodel. Out of sight does not always mean out of mind and water penetrating an unused basement still can cause issues even when it is empty. Wanting to protect their home, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems for help.   System Design Specialist Ron Bedard has years of basement waterproofing experience and met with the homeowner for a free estimate to go over their needs and work with them to design a system, specifically, for their home. The star of the system is the TripleSafe Sump Pump that will protect the homeowner from groundwater, relieving the hydro static pressure that causes leaks. WaterGuard was installed in areas that were necessary to aid in capturing and channeling water to the TripleSafe. The water has to go somewhere so the TripleSafe is connected to an Exterior Buried Discharge Line. The Discharge line takes all the water from the TripleSafe and takes it far from the house where it can’t cause a problem. To keep the system running all year even during the freezing Maine winter months, IceGuard is installed on the Discharge line to prevent ice buildup. While this basement may remain an unused space, the homeowner has protected the health of their home and ensured water intrusion won’t cause any troubles.
Leaky Basement in Lebanon, ME
System Design Specialist Ron B. met with Lebanon, ME homeowners to help address their wet basement issue. By contacting TC Hafford Basement Systems the homeowners receive a free estimate on the recommended repairs. Foreman Noah F. installed CleanSpace Wall System as well as WaterGuard. CleanSpace acts as a vapor barrier to keep moisture out. WaterGuard goes along the perimeter of the basement as a channel for water to move to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe has two Zoeller sumps, providing a back up in case of pump failure. It also has a battery back up so the homeowner is protected in the event of power loss. The TripleSafe removes water from the basement through an exterior buried discharge line, which drains the water away from the home.
Cracks In Acton, ME Basement Walls Sealed Properly With FlexiSpan
Kevin of Acton was experiencing trouble with water entering their basement through cracks in their basement walls. He needed a way to seal up these cracks, and sought professional help to get the job done. After hearing about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a family friend, Kevin called us right away! We had our representative head to the home to give a free estimate. Kevin chose what work he wanted done and we got started. To begin with the solution, we filled the cracks with an initial layer of sealant. The sealant was then covered over with a foam matting. This matting will form the backbone off the final structure. This matting is finally covered with a second layer of sealant to completely lock out any moisture trying to enter through the cracks. This finished structure is known as FlexiSpan, and the foam matting gives the overall structure a flexible nature. Allowing it to bend and contort, should the walls shift in any way. Now with FlexiSpan covering the cracks, Kevin will no longer need to worry about water entering his basement!
Strong Musty Smells in This Acton, ME Crawl Space
This Acton, ME crawl space was the local hangout for critters and rodents who were looking for a warm, damp place to spend their time. Tired of the high moisture in their crawl space and dealing with mold and the musty smell permeating into their home, the homeowner scheduled a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Rick Russell met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a crawl space encapsulation system that would solve their issues.   The first step of encapsulating a crawl space is creating an inorganic barrier between the outside elements and the crawl space. CleanSpace with Drainage Matting is laid down and attached to the walls. Drainage Matting creates space between the earth and CleanSpace, allowing water to be channeled safely. A TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed to take the groundwater and any water channeled to the TripleSafe from the installed SmartDrain. The TripleSafe will push all water out of the space and outside, away from the home, through the new Buried Discharge Line. To finish off the encapsulation system, CleanSpace vent covers were installed to close off the foundation vents, keeping moisture out of the crawl space and the humidity at a safer level. Now critters and rodents don’t have a way into the crawl space, and moisture is kept out. The homeowner no longer has to deal with musty odors and can use their crawl space for storage.
