WaterGuard & FlexiSpan Installations Protect Belgrade, ME Basement from Flooding
A homeowner living in Belgrade, ME was having difficulties keeping their basement free of water. They had a sump pump, but the trouble was water gathering on the floor away from the pump. Looking to put an end to this flooding, the homeowner sought an answer online. They soon found us at TC Hafford and called us right away to receive their free estimate. After they heard what we could do for them they gave us the go-ahead to start work. When our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on installing a WaterGuard piping system. Before the pipes could be laid, a shallow trench was excavated into the perimeter of the basement floor. The WaterGuard pipes were then laid down beneath the surface of the floor and buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete. These pipes, connected directly into the sump pump, will capture any moisture leaking in through the concrete foundation. This will keep any leaks from reaching the surface of this basement floor in the future. Next, a crack along one of the concrete walls needed to be sealed, as it was also a point where water had been leaking into this basement. To put an end to these leaks, a FlexiSpan seal would be used. This began with a primary layer of sealant being applied within and around the crack. This was then covered by a foam mat, running the length of the crack. Finally, a second layer of sealant was used to complete the FlexiSpan strcuture over the crack. This new seal will be able to shift and contort slightly to any shifting of the crack, maintaining a water-tight seal. Thanks to these new improvements, this homeowner should no longer experience any troubles with water leaking into their basement. The WaterGuard piping will take care of any problem before they rise above the surface of the floor.

Smelly Basement In Farmingdale, ME, Aired Out With SaniDry
A homeowner in Farmingdale had a basement with a rather excessive mold problem. This was causing the basement to smell quite a lot, which was upsetting the homeowner. WaterGuard Piping Maintains Dry Farmingdale, ME Basement
When a homeowner in Farmingdale, ME had became tired of living with a constantly damp basement floor, they sought a solution to keep the space dry. They soon heard about TC Hafford from a family member and called us to get a free estimate done on their basement. Once the estimate was finished, they decided they wanted the work done and our crew got to work. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began this waterproofing with the installation of WaterGuard piping. To begin, a trench was dug into the concrete floor, around the perimeter. This is where the new WaterGuard piping was laid, before being buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete. Now inside the floor, these pipes will take in any leaking moisture through slits at the base of each pipe. The trapped water is guided through the floor to the sump where it will be removed. Within the sump, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump for the WaterGuard to feed directly into. This device houses three individual pumps. The primary and secondary pumps are responsible for removing the bulk of the water needing to be pumped out of the home, with the secondary pump only activating if the primary pump cannot handle the water-level alone. The third pump is a battery backup pump, for when the home loses power. This will ensure the basement remains dry no matter how heavy the storm. The water leaves the basement through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe segment just beyond where this line exits the home. This pipe segment has special holes built-in which allow for trapped water to escape. This will protect he basement from ice in the line causing any backups. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was attached to the end of the line. This piece has a grate over the end, allowing the water to escape while keeping out any debris thay may block the line. With their new waterproofing complete, this homeowner can rest assured their basement will stay dry, even during heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard will guide any leaking moisture straight to the sump before it reaches the surface of the floor and becomes a problem.
