Damp Crawl Space and Wet Basement Combo in Arrowsic, ME
This Arrowsic, ME, homeowner has been dealing with moisture under their home, leading to mold and ruined belongings. Their basement would leak when it rained, and their crawl space was almost constantly damp with a musty odor. The homeowner loved their home and wanted to protect it and their belongings from further damage, so they reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. System Design Specialist Michael Madore met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a waterproofing system that would completely revitalize and protect the home. Waterproofing the Basement To take care of the water in the basement, WaterGuard Perimeter Drain was installed to collect and channel water in the problem areas and channel it to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe holds two Zoeller sumps with an additional Battery Powered Backup sump to protect the homeowner in the case of a power outage. The TripleSafe drains through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that takes the water far from the home. The system is protected against ice buildup with the installation of IceGuard, keeping the system running during the winter. Next, SprayFoam was installed to insulate the area, keeping cold air out and making the entire home more energy efficient. A SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed and connected to the TripleSafe so instead of having to empty a bucket of water when it fills, the SaniDry drains to the TripleSafe, keeping the humidity at a safe level all of the time. Encapsulating the Crawl Space Sealing up the crawl space and keeping moisture out was the next, so CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed. After regrading the area, Drainage Matting was laid down and is designed with large dimples to elevate the CleanSpace and channel water to the new SuperSump that was installed. CleanSpace was then installed and attached to the walls to seal up the crawl space. CleanSpace is a durable vapor barrier that keeps moisture and creatures out and reflects light to brighten the area, making it perfect for storage. Now the home is protected against water damage, and the family no longer has to worry about breathing in mold or dealing with musty odors. Their basement and crawl space are set up to be used for storage without the risk of their belongings or appliances being damaged.
Slab with WaterGuard Helping Basement Underwater
This homeowner in Bath, ME, has been dealing with water in their basement throughout the year, causing mold and floor buckling. Wanting to fix their basement troubles for good, the homeowner booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Tom Rich worked with the homeowner to design a waterproofing system that would keep water out and prevent mold and damage. Before the new slab could be poured, the area needed to be waterproofed. Drainage Matting was laid down to create an inorganic barrier that would protect the slab and help channel groundwater to the WaterGuard Perimeter Drain with it’s dimpled design. WaterGuard captures and channels water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump system. The TripleSafe includes two Zoeller pumps with an additional Battery Powered Backup pump that keeps the basement dry during a power outage. The TripleSafe drains through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that’s protected against freezing with the installation of IceGuard. Now that the area was fully prepped, the new slab was poured and smoothed. The homeowner is able to enjoy and use their basement without the risk of water damaging anything, and water is kept out, protecting the homeowner against mold.
Crack In Augusta, ME Basement Filled In With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Augusta was having trouble with water leaking into their basement through a large crack in the basement wall. If this wasn’t fixed soon, the homeowner feared it may start to cause water damage if enough water built up. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems on their television, the homeowner gave us a call to get their free estimate on the repair cost. They chose how they wanted the crack dealt with, and we dispatched a crew to begin work on the basement. The crack needed to be sealed in a way that would remain water tight for years, even if the wall shifted in any way; this means we needed to apply FlexiSpan to the wall. We started by filling the crack with a sealant. This is the first line of defense against water attempting to leak in through the crack. Next, we laid a foam mat over the sealant. This mat is the backbone of the FlexiSpan and gives it its flexible nature. Finally, we applied another layer of sealant over the foam to hold the structure in place. This FlexiSpan will keep out any water attempting to find its way inside the basement. This homeowner no longer needs to worry about any water damage, now that FlexiSpan is in place.
Leaking Basement in Augusta, ME
A homeowner in Augusta, ME contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems after noticing consistent water accumulation in their basement, which had led to dampness and musty odors. Concerned about the damage the moisture could cause, the homeowner requested an inspection to determine the cause of the water intrusion and find a lasting solution.   Upon inspection, we discovered that water was seeping through cracks in the foundation walls, worsened by poor insulation and lack of drainage. To tackle the problem, we applied Dr. Energy Saver spray foam insulation to seal gaps and insulate the walls. The spray foam not only improved the home's energy efficiency by preventing cold drafts but also created a moisture-resistant barrier, helping to keep the basement dry. We installed the WaterGuard drainage system to capture water entering through the walls and direct it away from the basement. To ensure that water didn't freeze and block the drainage during winter, we installed IceGuard on the discharge line, preventing potential backups. We also added a Trench Drain to control surface water and direct it into the WaterGuard system, providing comprehensive protection from future water damage.   To further safeguard the basement, we lined the walls with the CleanSpace Wall System, creating a vapor barrier that prevents water from entering while keeping humidity in check. This bright, clean-looking system also improved the overall appearance of the basement.     The homeowner was incredibly pleased with how efficiently the team handled the job and noticed a remarkable difference in the air quality and dryness of their basement. With the systems in place, they felt secure knowing their home was protected from future water intrusion.
New Homeowners Faced with Water in Their Basement
Shortly after moving into their dream home, this Augusta, ME, homeowner was faced with a problem: their basement would get wet when it rained. Wanting to use their basement for storage without the risk of having their belongings damaged, the homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate to waterproof their basement. System Design Specialist Ken Castillo met with the homeowner, and together they worked on designing a system that would keep their basement dry and their home healthy.   WaterGuard Perimeter drain was installed along the basement walls where necessary to capture groundwater. WaterGuard then channels the water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. In high-traffic areas, TrenchDrain was installed to capture the most amount of water possible. TrenchDrain features a grated cover that can be removed to clear the system and still capture surface water in front of stairs, doorways, and more. The TripleSafe Sump Pump has the power to pump 2,220 gallons of water an hour out of the main pump alone. Water is pumped out through a Buried Discharge Line that takes the water away from the home, where it can’t cause any more issues. IceGuard was installed at the base of the discharge line to prevent ice buildup, keeping the system running at 100% all year round. Now the home is safe from water, and the basement can be used for storage without worry.
Basement In Woolwich, ME, Waterproofed The Right Way
A homeowner in Woolwich was experiencing issues with water seeping into his basement. This water would collect into small pools, and created not only an unusable basement, but also a great environment for mold to grow. Seeing how much of a problem this could cause, the homeowner contacted TC Hafford as soon as he saw an ad for us on television. This was the right move, and we had just the solution for these basement troubles. To start the project, we dug up the interior perimeter of the concrete floor of the basement. This was to make room for our WaterGuard system. This system will rest slightly under the perimeter of the floor. The reason for this, is because water will enter the basement through both the walls and the floor. By placing the WaterGuard here, it will attract and capture all the water before it reaches the surface of the basement floor. The water is then diverted to our next installed device, the SmartSump sump pump. This takes the captured water and pumps it out of the basement through PVC piping. Finally, the IceGuard filter was attached directly outside the house, as a part of the PVC pipe system. This IceGuard will allow water to escape the pipe, should a clog happen that might otherwise prevent the water from exiting the pipe. Now this homeowner’s basement is dry for good!
Basement In Randolph, ME Kept Dry With SuperSump
A homeowner in Randolph was in need of a sump system. They had a drain, but they were tired of cleaning it regularly, and wanted an automatic system. After hearing about TC Hafford from a satisfied customer, they got in contact with us. We started by installing a SuperSump sump pump. This will take any water in the basement and push it up and out through a PVC pipe. Once outside the house, the water passes through a special pipe called an IceGuard. This IceGuard will allow water to escape the pipe should the lower end become blocked by ice or other forms of debris. Now this homeowner maintains a dry basement with much less upkeep.
Crawl space In Dresden, ME Repaired With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Dresden had a crawlspace liner with CleanSpace, that they’d gotten from TC Hafford several years ago. This liner, however, got ripped up when a contractor had to do work in the crawlspace. After the liner lost its functionality, the homeowner contacted us to get the crawlspace waterproofed a second time. We had a crew head out to install the CleanSpace Liner. This liner encapsulates the entire crawlspace, locking any moisture entering through the walls or floor between the liner and the entry location. Preventing this moisture from reaching the interior of the crawlspace.
Georgetown, ME Crawlspace Protected From Moisture With CleanSpace
Dave from Georgetown was experiencing trouble with moisture in his crawlspace. This moisture was coming in through the surrounding soil, due to the lack of a vapor barrier in Dave’s crawlspace. This moisture could lead to problems, such as mold growth. Looking for ways to prevent the moisture from causing any problems, Dave called TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had our representative at the home in no time to inspect the space, and give a free estimate. We then dispatched our crew and got to work! We began by laying a Drainage Matting along the wall/flood joint surrounding the crawlspace. This mat will hold back a portion of the moisture entering through this area, allowing it time to drain away back into the soil. We then encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. The liner covers the walls, the floor, and any supports in the space. Being made of a thin plastic, the CleanSpace will hold out all the moisture that would have otherwise found its way to the interior of the space. This new vapor barrier will maintain a healthy, dry atmosphere within the space for many years to come. Dave should never need to worry about moisture in this crawlspace again!
Fairfield, ME, Home Gets Newly Poured Basement Floor
When a homeowner in Fairfield, ME, needed a new basement floor, complete with waterproofing; they knew just where to go once they heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had a crew on the scene ASAP, and they got to work excavating the old basement floor. Once the old floor was dug up and moved out, the new concrete slab could be poured. The new floor was encapsulated by a WaterGuard system to capture any water trying to seep into the house through the walls or from underneath. The WaterGuard piping lead to a sump pump which was built into the newly poured floor. This sump is where the water goes to be pumped out of the basement.
