CleanSpace Encapsulation Keeps Litchfield, ME Crawlspace Moisture-Free
A homeowner living in Litchfield, ME was in the market for some crawlspace waterproofing. While not being immediately a problem, the damp crawlspace beneath their home was still unpleasant due to the musty smell that came from the space. When the homeowner saw an ad on their television for TC Hafford Basement Systems they called us right away to find out if we could solve their crawlspace problem. They received their free estimate and hired us to get the job done! When our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work right away laying a Drainage Matting across the floor of the crawlspace. This mat sits just above the floor and has many perforations to allow for water bloced by the vapor barrier to drain away back into the ground. Over the top of this, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the crawlspace. This completed the installation of the vapor barrier and will lock out any future leakages. Now any water entering the space will be trapped between the CleanSpace and the ground, where it will soon drain away. Now the interior of this cralwpsace will stay dry during rainfall. This homeowner will no longer need to suffer from the musty smell coming from below their home.
Litchfield, ME Basement Protected from Flooding with WaterGuard Piping
Owning a home with a flooding basement wasn’t something this Litchfield, ME homeowner was expecting to live with. Looking for a way to put an end to this flooding, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems shortly after seeing us on their TV. Our office staff set them up with an appointment to meet with one of our sales representatives who gave them their free estimate. Once they reviewed their options, the homeowner selected what waterproofing they wanted done and we got started! When our installation crew arrived at the home, they got to work right away by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. This gave room for our WaterGuard piping system to be laid down around the edge of the basement. Buried beneath a layer of loose rocks and concrete to conceal the pipes within the floor without hindering their function; the WaterGuard will now take in and moisture leaking into this basement through the floor. Once inside the WaterGuard, the collected water is guided through the floor to the sump where we installed a SmartSump pump. This device will force the water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line, eliminating the moisture problem within this basement. On the exterior of the home, two finishing touches were made to the discharge line to better protect this basement from flooding. First, an IceGuard pipe segment was attached just beyond where the discharge line leaves the home. This piece has upward facing holes built into the sides. These holes will allow any water blocked by ice or debris in the line to escape without backing up and flooding the basement. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was attached to the end of the line. This piece is covered on one end by a grate that will prevent most debris from entering the discharge line while allowing the water flowing from the home to exit normally. These newly installed waterproofing products will now maintain a dry, healthy basement for this homeowner to utilize however they see fit. The WaterGuard piping will prevent water from collecting on the floors surface for years to come!
Crack In Rockwood, ME Basement Wall Repaired

This crack was an easy entrance point for moisture, and could lead to water collecting in the basement or mold growth. Neither of these are things a homeowner wants in their basement; this homeowner being no different, they were soon in contact with TC Hafford Basement Systems after hearing about us from a friend. We had a representative at the home within days to look at the basement wall and give a free estimate. The homeowner chose how they wanted the crack fixed, a Polyurethane Injection, and we got to work! We started the fix by covering over the crack with a paste to hold ports in place. We then inject the Polyurethane into the ports where it fills he crack completely, gripping tightly to the concrete around it. This Polyurethane will then harden and form an impassable barrier to lock out any moisture that would otherwise find its way in. Now the crack in this basement wall is a problem of the past!

WaterGuard Installation Protects East Winthrop, ME Basement from Flooding
Living with a flooding basement was not something this East Winthrop, ME homeowner imagined when they first moved into their new home. With a concrete foundation below the home, the homeowner was unsure how to approach the problem. After seeing an ad for TC Hafford on TV, they called us right away and we set them up with a free estimate. They spoke with our sales representative and decided they would like to have us get the job done on their basement. When our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to excavate a shallow trench intro the perimeter of the basement floor. This allowed them to lay WaterGuard piping down around the outer edge of the floor, just beneath the surface.  After being buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, the WaterGuard pipes will capture any moisture leaking through the foundation using slits along the edges of each pipe. The water is then trapped within the piping and guided beneath the floor to the sump where it will be removed from the home. To take care of the water-removal, a SuperSump pump was installed in the sump. Nearby, an UltraSump backup battery was also installed and connected to the SuperSump. The new pump will take in the water collected by the WaterGuard and force it out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The SuperSump can keep up with more than 2,600 gallons of water every hour. The UltraSump battery will ensure the SuperSump remains active even during power outages, keeping the basement water-free during especially harsh storms. With their newly waterproofed basement, this homeowner can now use the space below their home how they wanted to without the fear of water damage. The classic WaterGuard & SuperSump combination will keep this basement free of flooding water for years to come!
