We started by lining the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This sheet covers the entire crawlspace, except for the ceiling. Sealing tightly against the walls/floor, this liner locks out water, keeping the crawlspace free of outside moisture. Then we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier to maintain the air quality of the crawlspace. This way even if moisture should make its way in, it won’t stay long enough to allow for mold growth. Now Donna sleeps easy at night, not needing to worry about her crawlspace.

Homeowners were under contract to sell their home when an inspection revealed moisture problems in the crawl space. We encapsulated the crawl space with our two-step system, including drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier liner. CleanSpace is an inorganic material, so it prevents mold growth, while also sealing out any water and giving the space a fresh clean appearance. Spray Foam insulation was also installed on the walls and rim joists to provide immediate energy efficiency improvements.

The FlexiSpan seal that is now covering this problem crack will keep any outside moisture from entering the crack. Thanks to the foam core, the FlexiSpan is able to conform to slight changes is the overall shape of the crack. This new seal will keep this homeowner happy with a dry basement. Rainwater will no longer be able to leak in through this crack in the future!

Living in Owls Head, ME, this homeowner had recently been struggling to keep water from accumulating into puddles on their basement floor. With a concrete foundation surrounding the space, the homeowner was unsure just how the water was entering their basement. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems on their television, the homeowner decided to call us and see if we could solve their wet basement problem! We set them up with a free estimate and our sales representative met with the homeowner to discuss the available options shortly after. They then gave us the green light to begin work we got started! When our installation crew made it out to the home, they began by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. This would enable WaterGuard piping to be laid, surrounding the basement. A TripleSafe sump system was then installed with the WaterGuard piping feeding directly into the sump. Next, the trench was filled in with loose rocks and a fresh layer of concrete. Now, the WaterGuard will capture any leaking moisture within the floor and guide it to the TripleSafe for removal before the water can even reach the surface. The TripleSafe unit will handle pumping water up and out of the home using its three pumps inside. With two main pumps to handle the bulk of the water and a battery backup pump, the TripleSafe will keep this basement completely water-free! With their newly waterproofed basement, this homeowner can now make better use of the space without fearing damage. The WaterGuard & TripleSafe combination will make sure this basement stays dry for years to come!

A homeowner needed immediate waterproofing of their basement when they noticed that they had started to gather water during heavy rain. They contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems to take care of the problem quickly, and effectively. We got to the home, and started by installing our WaterGuard piping system. This system will collect any water entering the basement by completely surrounding the interior perimeter. The WaterGuard system then feeds the collected water into the SuperSump sump pump we installed to push the water up and out of the basement. Ridding the basement of any water that might have previously been damaging.

A homeowner in Lincolnville had a sump pump, but it would regularly back up whenever it rained exceptionally hard. Needing a sump pump that performed as intended, the homeowner searched for a solution. We began by removing the old sump pump from the basement. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump, which would be able to handle all the water that would gather in the basement. Pumping it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Next, in the crawlspace, we lined the wall/floor joint with a Drainage Matting. This mat will hold back water as it enters, giving it time to drain back into the floor. Finally, to ensure moisture doesn’t still make it into the air of the crawlspace, we encapsulated the space with a CleanSpace Liner. This is a thin sheet of plastic that completely locks out all water trying to enter the crawlspace atmosphere through the walls or floor. Now this homeowner has a functional sump pump and a proper vapor barrier. No more flooding, thanks to CleanSpace and SuperSump!

We recently helped the owners of a local lodging establishment to waterproof the leaking basement in one of their buildings. We poured a new concrete slab floor with WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. The walls were covered with CleanSpace Wall System, which is a vapor barrier that seals moisture out of the basement and directs it behind the liner into the WaterGuard drainage. WaterGuard connects to a TripleSafe sump pump, so all water collected can be pumped away from the building to be removed. 

This Northport, ME, family home has been dealing with water coming in through a broken slab during rainy days, and the homeowner was ready to take back control of their home. The slab was beyond repair and needed to be replaced, so the homeowner chose to install a new Slab with WaterGuard. The area was prepped and regraded to create a level surface for the new slab. Drainage Matting was then laid down to create an inorganic barrier for the new slab to rest on, protecting it. The area needed to be waterproofed, so WaterGuard Perimeter Drain was installed to collect and channel water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup sump that protect the homeowner during rain events and power outages. The TripleSafe takes the water and pumps it through an Exterior Buried Discharge line. The floor above had a bounce and a slight sag to it, so SmartJacks were installed to stabilize the floor. SmartJacks have the ability to be adjusted after installation, so the homeowner is able to keep their floor stable as the home settles in the future. The basement was fully prepped, and the new slab was poured, leaving the homeowner with a smooth floor. To finish the waterproofing system, a SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep the humidity level in the basement at a safe level, preventing mold growth. The homeowner is now happy that their family home is protected, healthier than it has been in years, and is able to be passed down through generations.

The owner of this Northport, ME, home had a unique situation in their basement where moisture was coming in from a section of ledge and up through their basement floor. System Design Specialist Kathryn Dolan worked with the homeowner to design a waterproofing system that would fix their basement and help the homeowner reach their goals. Prepping The Area Before The Slab The area needed to be prepped and waterproofed before the new slab could be poured. The area had to be clean and regraded so Drainage Matting could be laid down. Drainage Matting acts as an inorganic barrier that will protect the slab and channel groundwater to the sump with it’s dimpled design. Drainage Matting was installed on the ledge area as well to protect the CleanSpace that was installed. CleanSpace is a durable vapor barrier that keeps moisture out of the basement and helps to brighten the area with it’s white finish. WaterGuard was installed around the space to capture groundwater and channel it to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe includes two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup pump to protect the homeowner during a power outage. The TripleSafe is connected to an Exterior Discharge line that takes the water far from the home and where it will no longer cause issues. The last step before pouring the slab was installing SprayFoam around the rim joists and on the walls to insulate the area. The New Slab Now that the area was prepped, the slab was poured and smoothed. A SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to maintain a safe humidity level in the basement. The SaniDry drains directly to the TripleSafe, so the homeowner never needs to empty a bucket. Now that the homeowner's basement is fully waterproofed, the homeowner can use the space for storage without the risk of moisture causing mold or musty smells, and water can’t cause any trouble for the homeowner.
