Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

A homeowner in Trevett had seen our ads on a local TV station and decided it was time to take care of their wet crawlspace. The homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. One of our System Design Specialists met with the homeowner to review their concerns and come up with a plan to prevent future issues.

CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed across the entire crawlspace. Drainage Matting is laid down first to elevate the CleanSpace and with its dimpled design, Drainage Matting helps to channel any groundwater to a sump. CleanSpace was installed and attached to the crawl space walls to encapsulate the area. CleanSpace is an inorganic and durable vapor barrier that keeps moisture and small critters out while turning the crawlspace into a perfect area for storage. We also installed a SuperSump Plus which pumps water out of the basement through an Exterior Buried Discharge line and takes the water far away from the home. The whole system is protected against ice buildup during winter with the installation of IceGuard on the Discharge line. This ensures that the system will always run, preventing flooding when snow melts. To finish out the waterproofing system, a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to keep the humidity in the crawlspace at a safe level, preventing musty smells and mold growth. Now the homeowner is happy that they have a dry, usable space!

Before our team arrived, the homeowner in Southport, Maine, faced the challenge of a damp, dirt-floor crawl space. Ground water was an issue for this crawl space, so a TripleCrawl Sump Pump system was installed to handle the water and pump it out of the home through the new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far away from the home and is protected against ice buildup with IceGuard. Mold has been an issue, so taking care of the moisture problem in the crawl space was the next step. CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed to encapsulate the area and keep moisture out. Drainage Matting is constructed with a dimpled design that channels water to the TripleCrawl and elevates the CleanSpace to keep it clean and protect it. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that was attached to the walls, sealing the area and brightening the space, making it perfect for storage. SmartDrain and Perforated Pipe were installed to channel water to the TripleCrawl Sump Pump. To finish encapsulating the crawl space and protect the home, SprayFoam was installed to insulate the area, and a SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep the humidity at a safe level. The SaniDry Sedona is connected to a Condensate Pump and drains to the TripleCrawl so the homeowner never has to be worried about emptying a bucket of water, and the system will continue to run without needing to be supervised or checked up on.

The homeowner is now able to regain control over their home and can live in the space without the concern of the mold or moisture effecting the health of their family.

First, the floors above needed to be stabilized to prevent walls from cracking and damaging the home. SmartJacks are made of galvanized steel and are capable of supporting the weight needed and have the ability to be adjusted over time if needed. Once the bouncy floor was addressed, encapsulating the crawl space and creating an inorganic barrier between the space and the outside elements was next. CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was laid down and attached to the walls with SprayFoam to ensure a tight seal. Drainage Matting is a durable matting with large dimples to create a channel for water to be directed to the low spot and helps to keep the CleanSpace elevated and clean. CleanSpace is a durable inorganic vapor barrier that protects crawl spaces from moisture and prevents critters from making their way into the area and causing damage. To help capture and channel water, Perforated Pipe was installed and connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe is capable of handling the water during heavy rains that would otherwise cause issues and pumps it out of the home through a Buried Discharge Line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home, and with IceGuard installed, the system is protected from ice buildup during the cold winter months. Now that the home is protected from the outside elements, fully encapsulated, and the floor is stabilized, the homeowner can live in their home, knowing that their family will be safe and healthier.
