TC Hafford Basement Systems Before & After Photos

Homeowners in West Gardiner, Maine wanted to have a slab floor poured in the basement before renovating the space, so they contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help. The old dirt floors were allowing groundwater to easily fill the space after heavy rains and snow melt. We poured new concrete flooring with WaterGuard interior perimeter drainage, as well as a TripleSafe sump pump (not pictured here). WaterGuard captures the groundwater and channels it to the TripleSafe to be pumped away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The basement now has a clean, updated appearance and the homeowners can safely finish the space without worrying about water damage.

With a black mold growing in their basement and regular flooding after rainfall, this Bath, ME homeowner was looking for a solution! They called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and following their free estimate from our sales representative, they hired us to get started on upgrading their failing sump as soon as possible. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to begin work on the basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. This trench opened enough space to lay WaterGuard piping down around the basement. After sealing these pipes in place with a fresh layer of concrete, they will act to intercept any moisture leaking through the foundation in the future. This collected water is guided through the WaterGuard to the SuperSump pump installed where the old pump had been. The SuperSump system is able to remove over 2,600 gallons of water from the home every hour. This water flow out of the home through a PVC discharge line protected by an IceGuard segment just outside the home. The IceGuard is built in a way that provides any water blocked by ice or debris a way to escape the line without backing up into the basement.

With an upgraded sump pump, this homeowner should no longer experience a flooding basement after any rainfall. Their new WaterGuard system will maintain a dry basement floor for years to come!

This crawlspace in Arrowsic Maine needed some love so the homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the job done. Our System Design Specialist Daryl met with the homeowner and after analyzing the issues in the crawl space, designed a system that would meet the homeowners needs. Utilizing CleanSpace, Drainage Matting, SprayFoam and a SmartSump, this crawl space will now be protected. With this system, the homeowner will have peace of mind knowing that the CleanSpace encapsulates the crawl space and water collected by the SuperSump will be moved far from the house through a buried discharge line where it will no longer be a problem.

We recently completed insulating a brand new large garage build in Bath, Maine. We installed rockwool insulation on the garage walls, which is a great alternative to traditional fiberglass insulation. Rockwool is fire resistant, as well as water and mold resistant, whereas fiberglass insulation can absorb water, keeping it damp and primed for mold growth. Rockwool is also very durable and does not sag or settle like fiberglass insulation will. On the ceiling we used Spray Foam insulation to ensure all of the nooks and crannies were air tight. Spray Foam provides immediate energy savings and improvement.

Homeowners in Arrowsic, Maine had a crawl space that was half dirt floor and half concrete. The crawl space was constantly wet, as seen by the rusted pipes and beams. We encapsulated the crawl space by installing drainage matting to control the groundwater, and then our CleanSpace vapor barrier on top to seal out the moisture. Their home is now protected by keeping the crawl space dry.
