Bath, Maine homeowners experienced cracking in their hardwood floors due to the floors starting to sag. To support the sagging floors we installed SmartJacks, custom fit steel posts that support and lift the home above. SmartJacks are zinc-coated so they never rust, and they can be adjusted over time as needed to continue to keep the floors level.

We worked with a general contractor to encapsulate this damp crawl space in Saco, Maine. The general contractor was replacing rotted support beams that had been caused by the moisture in the crawl space. Dirt floors allow moisture to seep in, leading to big problems like mold and rot. We installed our two-step encapsulation system, consisting of a layer of drainage matting and a CleanSpace vapor barrier liner. CleanSpace seals out moisture, and is treated to prevent mold growth. We also installed a SmartSump and SaniDry Sedona. The SmartSump pump removes groundwater by pumping it away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The SaniDry Sedona is a high efficiency air system that both filters allergens from the air, while also controlling humidity. The SaniDry Sedona can remove over 100 pints of water from the air per day!

We helped homeowners with this Bath, Maine basement that had already had one wall collapse, and another was bowing. Moisture had caused the original beam to begin to rot, so our new supplement beam and SmartJacks will keep the home properly protected.

Typically needing to make use of a shop-vac to help remove water pooling up in their basement, this Sidney, ME homeowner needed a more permanent solution fast! They called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and following their free estimate, we were able to begin work on the basement. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started by excavating a portion of the basement floor to make room for a SuperSump pump to be placed flush withing the floor. The SuperSump was further secured with a fresh coat of concrete to fill any remaining cracks in the floor. Now during rainfall or melting snow this new SuperSump will take in and force any leaking water out of the home through a PVC discharge line. This line will carry the water a distance from the home before releasing it onto the ground to drain away.

With a more permanent water removal system in place below their home, this homeowner will no longer need to dry their basement floor themselves. The SuperSump pump will keep this basement water-free for years down the road!

Finally, a SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep the basement’s humidity at a safe level. The SaniDry Sedona connects to the TripleSafe, meaning the homeowner never has to empty a bucket again. All water is pushed out of the home through a buried discharge line, away from the foundation. Now, the homeowner no longer needs to worry about their basement and can spend their time relaxing on vacation.
