We recently helped homeowners in New Harbor, Maine to protect their crawl space from moisture and mold issues. The crawl space had a damp gravel floor, and cinder block walls, allowing water to easily seep in. Water intrusion can quickly cause mold, and even wood rot, on the structural support beams. We encapsulated the space with drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace seals out moisture, and because it is an inorganic material it also prevents mold growth. To better insulate the area we also installed Spray Foam, which creates an air and moisture tight seal while immediately improving the energy efficiency of the home.

Homeowners were under contract to sell their home in Nobleboro, Maine when an inspection report identified a problem with a bowing foundation wall. We repaired the foundation wall by installing StableLock Wall, a new poured concrete wall. StableLock Wall provides proper structural support to the home without having to excavate the old wall, or lift the home, both of which are costly. We pour the new StableLock Wall next to the failing wall to prevent further shifting or bowing.

We installed PowerBraces along the crack on the interior of their basement walls. PowerBraces are steel posts that are custom fit to the space, and can be tightened over time, sometimes helping the wall return to its original straight position. PowerBraces prevent further cracking or shifting, and require no excavation, keeping them a cost effective foundation repair solution. 

Homeowners in Albion, Maine reached out for help with their sinking floors. They were missing a support beam under their home, causing the sinking problem. We added SmartJacks with a new supplemental beam. SmartJacks are galvanized steel posts that are custom fit to stabilize the home, and can even be adjusted to lift the floors back to level. The galvanized steel will not rust, so it is a great long term choice for damp areas like crawl spaces.

Needing to use the basement of their property for regular meetings, this Pittsfield, ME property owner was looking for a way to keep out the moisture that would occasionally leak into the space. After being referred to us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, the property owner hired us to take care of their waterproofing needs. In order to eliminate the accumulation of moisture on the basement floor in the future, WaterGuard Piping was installed around the perimeter of the floor leading into a new TripleSafe sump system. A CleanSpace wall system was installed to cover the interior walls of the basement, creating a seal that would lock out any unwanted water. From now-on, any moisture flowing in through the foundation of this basement will be blocked by new barriers and transported to the sump for removal from the basement through the discharge line.

Now this property owner can hold their meetings without any fear of moisture or dampness interfering with the proceedings. The WaterGuard piping will keep this basement floor water-free for years into the future!
