Crack In Clinton, ME, Basement Sealed Properly With FlexiSpan
A resident of the town of Clinton had noticed a problem forming in their basement. It was a crack in the wall. This crack could lead to several issues in the future, such as water gathering on the floor, or mold growing from moisture in the air. The homeowner saw an ad on TV for TC Hafford and called us immediately. We then sent out a crew to get to work fixing the crack. To start the solution, we filled the crack with sealant. This acts as the first line of defense against moisture. Then a foam pad is laid over the top of this sealant, to hold it in place and to act as a secondary barrier. Finally a second layer of sealant is laid on top of the foam, to completely seal any moisture out of the basement. This layered system, know as FlexiSpan is capable of stretching and shifting. Should the crack manipulate at all, the FlexiSpan should stay snug to the crack, locking out water without fail.
Leaky Dirt Basement In China Village, ME Given Proper Vapor Barrier With CleanSpace
A homeowner in China Village owned an exceptionally old home, with a dirt basement. This basement was never given a proper vapor barrier, and would regularly become damp, or gather pools of water. The homeowner wanted to have this put to an end, and sought help online. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and gave us a call. We gave the homeowner a free estimate, and then we got to work! We began work on the basement by grading the floor, to level out the surface. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump to pump out any water gathering underneath the vapor barrier. Attached to the discharge line coming from the pump, we added an IceGuard piece on the exterior of the home. This piece is designed so that should the lower end of the pipe become blocked, the water can still escape. Next, we lined the wall/floor joint around the basement perimeter with a Drainage Matting. This matting is intended to hold the water back, allowing it time to drain back into the dirt. Finally, we encapsulated the entire space with a CleanSpace Liner. This lining is made of a thin plastic, and covers all of the walls, supports, and the floor of the basement. The CleanSpace will hold back any moisture trying to reach the center of the space, forcing it to either drain away into the soil, or gather within the sump to be pumped out. Now with a properly installed vapor barrier, this homeowner will no longer experience any issues with water gathering within their basement.
Pemaquid, ME Basement Waterproofed With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Pemquid was in dire need of some basement waterproofing. He would frequently gather pools of water in his basement during rain, and this needed to end. Not long after the homeowner made the decision to fix their basement, they saw an ad on their Television for TC Hafford Basement Systems, and knew we were the ones for the job! They contacted us, received a free estimate, and we got to work. We started by digging a trench into the cement floor around the inside perimeter of the basement. This allowed us to lay down a WaterGuard piping system. This system will collect the water as it enters the basement and guide it to the sump. In the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump to pump the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. This combination will maintain a dry basement, even in the heaviest rains. Making water damage a thing of the past for this homeowner!
Pemaquid, ME Crawlspace Kept Dry with New Vapor Barrier
A homeowner living in Pemaquid, ME had recently moved to the area and noticed their crawlspace was damp and would take on water during rainfall. Having had work done by TC Hafford in the past, they called us right away to receive their free estimate. Our sales representative looked over the space and went over the possible options with the homeowner. After the homeowner made their decision, we were able to get started on the job! When our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on waterproofing the crawlspace below the home by laying a Drainage Matting across the floor of the space. This new mat covers the floor, but rests just off the surface to create channels between itself and the floor. With pores to allow water through from above, any moisture trapped in the space should flow through the channels to where it can most easily drain from the crawlspace into the ground. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the space. This solid sheet of polymer completely locks out moisture trying to enter the space from the outside. Now when water leaks into the crawlspace, it will be blocked by the CleanSpace liner before flowing down through the Drainage Matting and into the ground. With their new vapor barrier in place, this homeowner can no rest assured their crawlspace will remain dry even during heavy rainfall. The CleanSpace liner will keep water out of the interior of the space for many years to come!
WaterGuard Drainage installed in Jefferson, ME
A homeowner in Jefferson was experiencing trouble with their basement getting wet; even though they had a sump system installed. They were planning on finishing their basement, but wanted this water problem dealt with before hand. After a quick online search, they came to TC Hafford to get the job done. We started the fix by digging up the interior perimeter of their basement. This enabled us to install our WaterGuard system to capture the water as it comes through the walls or floors. This water exits through the sump system already installed. We finished this basement off with a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. This homeowner now has a properly waterproofed basement.
Years of Water Basement Water Issues Gone
After years of flooding issues in their basement and water reaching as high as three inches, this Jefferson, ME, homeowner was tired of the issues. Mold could be found on items, which caused the basement to be unusable. Looking to regain control of their basement and use it for storage, the homeowner booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Kathryn Dolan met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a basement waterproofing system that would keep the basement dry all the time.   The homeowner needed protection through the whole basement, so WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter to catch and channel water. WaterGuard is installed under the slab to catch ground water and any water that may seep in from the foundation. TrenchDrain was installed in high-traffic areas and doorways to catch any water that may find its way in when coming in from outside. TrenchDrain connects to the WaterGuard where the water is channeled to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe is capable of taking the water and pumping it out of the home through a Buried Discharge Line. The Discharge line takes the water far away from the house, and to prevent ice buildup during the cold Maine winters, IceGuard was installed. This keeps the waterproofing system functioning year-round, ensuring the basement is always dry. Finally, CleanSpace Wall System was installed where necessary and tied into the WaterGuard. Now the homeowner is free to use their basement as they originally intended, and water and mold are a thing of the past.
Greenville, ME Basement Kept Dry With WaterGuard
A couple in Greenville frequently experienced a basement with a few inches of water in it. This water was leaking in through the cement, and the homeowners needed a way to prevent this from happening in the future. After a quick internet search, they found TC Hafford Basement Systems and knew we could get the job done! They called us to receive their free estimate, and then we got to work! To capture the water as it travels through the concrete, we installed our WaterGuard piping system underneath the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This water that finds itself inside the WaterGuard is guided to the sump in the basement, where we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will maintain a dry floor, being able to handle up to 2,650 gallons of water per hour. The water is pumped out through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe piece mid-way along the discharge line. The IceGuard is designed to allow water to exit the pipe, should the lower end become blocked by ice or other debris. These systems will just about guarantee no more water will build up on the homeowner’s basement floor!

They called us right away for their free estimate and we got to work! As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home they began installing a vapor barrier to keep moisture out of this crawlspace in the future. This started with a Drainage Matting being laid across the floor of the crawlspace. The Drainage Matting sits just above the floor and has many small holes throughout. This will allow for the water blocked by the barrier to flow towards where it can more easily drain away back into the ground. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the crawlspace, covering all of the walls as well as the floor. This thin liner will completely lock out any outside moisture trying to enter the interior of the crawlspace. These two layers forms a vapor barrier that will soon eliminate this homeowners moisture problem. Now once the space dries out, this homeowner will no longer need to deal with a musty smell around their home. The newly installed vapor barrier will keep this crawlspace dry for many years to come!
Bowing Basement Wall in Greenville, ME repaired with PowerBrace Installation
A homeowner living in Greenville, ME had recently noticed that one of the walls in their basement was bowing inward. This unusual bending of the wall made the homeowner uneasy and they quickly began searching for a solution to their problem. The homeowner soon discovered our TC Hafford website and contacted us to ask about what could be done to fix their wall. We dispatched our sales representative to give the homeowner a free estimate and they soon decided on how they wanted the problem solved, giving us the go-ahead to begin work on their basement. These supports are cut to fit the height of the wall and are placed every few feet to better distribute the force against the wall. The PowerBrace beams are fixed to the joists in the ceiling using brackets that will allow for the beams to be tightened against the wall while the bottoms of each beam are secured to the floor with concrete screw anchors. Once fully installed, the PowerBraces will be tightened over time to readjust the wall until it reaches its original position once again. Flooding Basement In Damariscotta, ME Protected From Damage With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Damariscotta owned a home with a leaky basement. This basement would take on water during any amount of rain. The homeowner needed a way to stop this before any damage occured within the basement. They soon got online and after a quick Google search, found TC Hafford Basement Systems. We set them up with a free estimate, and after they gave us the go ahead, we got to work! The interior perimeter of the basement floor was excavated to begin the project. This newly dug trench allowed us to emplace our WaterGuard system within the floor. The WaterGuard was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it without preventing its function. Made of specially designed pipes, this system will capture water as it tries to find its way into the interior of the space. The collected water is brought along through the WaterGuard to the sump. In the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump to take all of the water and evacuate it from the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we connected an IceGuard to the discharge line. This will allow water to continue to flow from the pump even when the lower end of the pipe is blocked by debris of any kind. Now this homeowner can be proud to have a properly waterproofed basement!
