After a particularly cold winter, this Bailey Island, ME homeowner was in the market for some improved insulation beneath their home. Looking to find a solution to their problem, the homeowner searched online and soon discovered our website at TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us and we set them up with a free estimate from one of our sales representatives. Once they reviewed their options, they hired us to get started on improving the insulation below their home.
When our installation crew was able to make it out to the home, they began work on the crawlspace below this home by removing some dirt that was hindering access to parts of the space. Once this dirt was out of the way, our crew began using Spray Foam between the rim joists above the crawlspace. Once applied, this foam will expand rapidly to fill in the space between the joists. Solidifying after this expansion, the foam will form an insulating barrier between the home and the temperatures that once entered through the crawlspace.
Now that their crawlspace has been given a proper layer of insulation, this homeowner won’t need to worry about losing efficiency when heating their home next winter.

Damp Basement in Winthrop, ME, Dried and Sealed
A homeowner in Winthrop had been experiencing issues with a wet basement since they first moved into their house. This wasn’t too big of a problem for the homeowner, until they changed the pitch of their roof. After this, somehow even more water began to enter the basement. This is when, after seeing an ad on TV, the homeowner decided to contact TC Hafford.
We got to work starting by installing a WaterGuard waterproofing system. This is a pipe that encapsulates the interior perimeter of the basement. It sits slightly under the floor, and captures any water entering through either the walls or the floor. We then connected this WaterGuard system to a SuperSump sump pump. This pump takes the water from the basement and pushed it up and out of the basement. On the outside of the house, we finished this project with an IceGuard piece. This section of pipe allows for water to escape the pipe should ice or other debris block the flow further along. These newly implemented systems working together should keep this homeowner happy, and the basement dry.

We got the green light and began work!
We started the job by digging up the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us a trench to lay down our WaterGuard pipe system. This is a special pipe made to capture water as it tries to enter the basement through the walls or floor, guiding it then to the sump. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump into the sump in the basement. This is where the WaterGuard is leading the water. Once the water reaches the SuperSump, it is pushed up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. This homeowner now can sleep worry free that his belongings are dry and safe in his basement.
This Winthrop, ME, homeowner wanted to remodel their basement but couldn’t because of water finding its way into their basement and causing issues. The homeowner wanted to fix their problems before springtime, so they booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the help they needed.
WaterGuard was installed along the perimeter of the basement where water was seeping in to capture it and channel it to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup pump. The battery backup pump protects the homeowner during a rain event when their power goes out. TrenchDrain was installed in high-traffic areas and around appliances, then connected to the WaterGuard. The TripleSafe was connected to an Exterior Buried Discharge line that takes the water away from the home and protects the waterproofing system against ice buildup with the installation of IceGuard. Finally, to keep the humidity in the basement at a safe level and prevent mold and musty odors, a SaniDry Sedona was installed. The homeowner is happy that their basement is protected and they can use their basement however they want without worrying about damage.

WaterGuard Seals Off Brunswick, ME Basement From External Water
A couple in Brunswick was experiencing issues with water coming in through the walls of their basement. They had no way of efficiently removing this water from their basement, and were seeking professional help. They soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a previously satisfied customer, and called us right away! We had a representative inspect the basement, giving them their free estimate, and then we got to work on the basement!
We began by digging a trench around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This allowed us to lay down our WaterGuard system, which was then covered over with loose rocks and cement. This hides the WaterGuard without hindering functionality. This special pipe system captures the water as it enters the basement, carrying it to the sump we dug in the basement. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump, which will take the collected water from the WaterGuard and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, we attached an UltraSump backup battery to the SuperSump. This will keep the SuperSump powered, even if the power in the home is out, due to inclement weather, or any other reason. Now this couple has a dry basement, which will keep itself dry in any weather!
