New owners of this Alton Bay, NH home quickly realized the crawl space was humid and they could smell musty odors. We cleaned out the old fiberglass insulation that was damp and falling to prep the crawl space for encapsulation. First we install a layer of drainage matting on the ground that controls the groundwater, followed by our CleanSpace vapor barrier liner on top. CleanSpace seals out moisture, keeping the crawl space dry and protecting the joists and beams from wood rot. Spray Foam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists, keeping cold air out and adding another layer of protection against moisture since it is water resistant. Lastly, we installed a SmartJack support for a beam that was starting to sag.
We recently helped homeowners in Portsmouth, NH with their failing crawl space. Their old sump pump no longer worked, the fiberglass insulation was damp and sagging away from the home, and the dirt floors were allowing moisture to come in. We encapsulated the space with drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier, sealing out water. A SmartSump pump with UltraSump battery back up was installed to ensure they never had sump pump issues again. Spray Foam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists to create an air tight seal, providing immediate energy savings for the homeowners.
This Portsmouth, NH basement had water intrusion problems, as seen by the damp floors and efflorescence on the foundation walls. Efflorescence is the white powdery substance on the walls that happens when water comes in and evaporates, leaving behind a residue of minerals and salts. To waterproof the space, we poured a new slab floor with WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. BrightWall panels were installed on the walls to give a fresh, clean appearance and seal out moisture. Their new TripleSafe sump pump will pump water away from the home, keeping the basement dry.
Homeowners in Portsmouth, NH had renovated ~3/4 of their basement but their old sump pump kept failing, causing water to ruin the renovations they had invested in. They wanted the basement properly waterproofed and protected so they could continue to enjoy the finished space. We installed WaterGuard and a TripleSafe sump pump. WaterGuard is a perimter drainage system that captures water coming in through walls or the floor and then directs that water to the TripleSafe. The TripleSafe sump pump then pumps water away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The TripleSafe can handle over 6,000 gallons of water per hour, and it has a battery backup system, ensuring it will operate in all conditions.
